Position: Data Analyst

Position Overview

We are looking for a results-driven Data Analyst to join our remote team and help transform data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with SQL and BI tools, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to business and technical stakeholders. You’ll work closely with Product, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering teams to support data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, clean, and analyze structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI / Tableau / Looker.
  • Track KPIs, metrics, and business performance trends.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support product, operations, and leadership decisions.

2. SQL, Data Modeling & Automation

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract insights from relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Big Query).
  • Support data modeling and metric definitions in collaboration with Data Engineers.
  • Automate recurring reports and workflows using Python or BI tool scheduling features.

3. Business & Product Analytics

  • Conduct funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and customer segmentation.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments (where applicable).
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches and clear recommendations.

4. Data Quality, Governance & Documentation

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across dashboards and reports.
  • Document metrics, data sources, and assumptions in Confluence/Notion or internal wikis.
  • Work with engineering teams to improve data pipelines and resolve data issues.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance).
  • Present insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support leadership with executive-ready dashboards and reports.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions).
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling).
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and defining KPIs.
  • Strong communication and storytelling with data.

Programming & Tools

  • Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R for analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses: Big Query, Snowflake, Redshift.
  • Experience with version control (Git).
  • Exposure to dbt for analytics engineering (nice to have).

Modern Analytics Skills (2024–2025)

  • Experience with self-service BI and semantic layers.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality checks, and lineage.
  • Familiarity with event tracking tools (GA4, Mix panel, Amplitude).
  • Basic knowledge of product analytics and experimentation frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted analytics or automated insights tools is a plus.
