Operating as a strategic leader within Empower’s enterprise systems group, you will evaluate complex business processes, translate stakeholder requirements into detailed technical specifications, and guide external client reporting initiatives. This specialised role goes beyond general requirement gathering—you will actively own data configurations within the EASY database system, construct enterprise layouts using Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence (WebI), map external data exchange files (such as total rewards and plan participant records), and spearhead the implementation of modern, AI-driven use cases within an Agile framework.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Workflows

  • Technical Requirement Architecture: Partner with cross-functional product, development, and QA teams in an Agile environment to gather, analyse, and translate complex business needs into concise, structured user stories with testable acceptance criteria.

  • Enterprise Reporting & Analytics: Design, develop, and maintain high-impact corporate reporting systems utilising Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence (WebI) tools.

  • Database & Client File Management: Manage complex backend data mapping layouts within the specialised EASY database system, ensuring exact schema structure validation for total rewards files, external plan systems, and participant data records.

  • System Impact & Process Analysis: Analyse existing multi-platform architectures to spot performance bottlenecks, create detailed flow diagrams, perform impact analyses, and document technical solutions to improve processing speeds.

  • AI Use Case Integration: Support the strategic development and technical rollout of AI-driven tools and automation features within active software delivery lifecycles.

  • Project Management & Team Mentorship: Guide day-to-day task delivery timelines, facilitate grooming syncs, and provide direct technical coaching and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts.


Candidate Prerequisites & Preferred Technical Stack

Successful candidates must combine deep expertise in relational reporting engines and structured client data exchanges with a solid grasp of software development workflows.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Professional Tenure: 5+ years of continuous hands-on experience operating as a Business Systems Analyst or within a closely aligned technical systems analyst role in software engineering spaces.

  • Reporting Suite Mastery: Direct production-level experience designing complex data queries and reports using Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence (WebI).

  • Database Systems Expertise: Hands-on background working directly with the EASY database platform and its associated data architectures.

  • Client Data Structuring: Proven experience supporting external client analytics, specifically handling the mapping, validation, and transfer of total rewards, external plan, and participant data files.

  • Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience managing requirements, tasks, and documentation using Jira and Confluence.

  • Innovative Frameworks: Prior exposure to or experience implementing AI-driven use cases and automation parameters within functional business operations.

  • Core Competencies: Strong project management background, exceptional documentation skills, and the ability to translate complex technical layouts to non-technical leaders.

Preferred (Set-Apart) Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical/quantitative field.

  • Prior business analysis experience specifically within the Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Fintech industries.

  • A diverse technical background containing prior professional experience working as a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer, software developer, Product Owner, or Scrum Master.
