Apply for the Digital Enterprise Azure Sales Specialist role at Microsoft (Sydney, New South Wales). Drive cloud and AI digital transformation, manage end-to-end cloud consumption sales, and orchestrate technical solutions for enterprise accounts.
About the Company: Microsoft
Microsoft is a global pioneer in technology, enabling digital transformation in the era of an intelligent cloud and an intelligent edge. Its mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more. Microsoft’s cloud platform, Azure, is at the forefront of this mission, offering businesses cutting-edge cloud computing capabilities, advanced data analytics, and scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks.
This Digital Enterprise Azure Sales Specialist role is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Microsoft’s Sydney operations are critical to accelerating digital infrastructure adoption across the Asia-Pacific region. Operating under a hybrid model (requiring 2 days per week in-office), this team focuses on helping major Australian enterprises navigate high-stakes digital transformations by migrating workloads, deploying modern data estates, and integrating generative AI tools.
About the Role: Azure Sales Specialist (Individual Contributor)
Microsoft is seeking a commercially sharp and technically minded Digital Enterprise Azure Sales Specialist to join its Digital Sales and Solutions division in Sydney. This position functions as a specialised Individual Contributor who initiates customer conversations around cloud migration, app modernisation, and AI integration. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales business within an assigned territory.
This is not a traditional standalone sales role; it is an infrastructure orchestration position. You will map out complex corporate stakeholder networks, identify decision-makers, and collaborate closely with Account Executives, Technical Sales Professionals, and Microsoft’s global black belts (GBBs). By tracking, qualifying, and expanding cloud pipeline opportunities, you will guide customers from initial exploratory discovery through to predictable contract closure and real-world Azure consumption.
Key Responsibilities & Cloud Sales Workflows
-
Territory & Pipeline Management: Supervise the end-to-end sales lifecycle within your assigned geographic territory, establishing strict forecasting discipline and building custom portfolio plans aligned with strategic Priorities.
-
Sales Execution & Deal Closure: Identify customer business pain points and technical readiness, structure predictable close plans (including timeline mapping and stakeholder buy-in), and apply the Microsoft Sales Process (MSP) to de-risk deals.
-
Strategic Stakeholder Mapping: Build comprehensive relationship charts of external decision-makers, business influencers, and subject matter experts to introduce tailored cloud workloads.
-
Consumption Optimization: Identify avenues to grow Azure consumption with existing accounts through workshops, targeted demos, and accurate quoting, while partnering with internal stakeholders to systematically dismantle consumption blockers.
-
Partner Alignment (OCP): Collaborate with One Commercial Partner (OCP) frameworks and an extensive external channel network to execute cross-sell, up-sell, and co-sell initiatives.
-
Competitive Positioning: Conduct detailed research on competing public cloud features, collaborating with internal competitive intelligence units and global black belts (GBBs) to handle differentiation in client communications.
-
Rhythm of Business (ROB): Maintain strong corporate operational excellence by participating actively in team pipeline updates, portfolio analysis campaigns, and post-sale client satisfaction reviews.
