Rather than offering a single standard off-campus application form, Flipkart uses Flipkart GRiD 8.0 as its primary gateway to evaluate and hire engineering talent for summer internships, winter internships, and full-time software development roles.
Flipkart GRiD 8.0 Tracks & Domain Focus
In 2026, Flipkart expanded GRiD 8.0 into three distinct technical tracks to match modern engineering roles:
1. Software Development (SDE) Track

Core Focus: Fundamental computer science, low-level design (LLD), high-level design (HLD), concurrency, and scalable backend services.

Key Skills Required: Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), System Design, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), APIs, and clean code optimization.
2. AI Engineering Track

Core Focus: Building usable, production-ready artificial intelligence systems, automation workflows, and deploying modern machine learning pipelines.

Key Skills Required: Python, Machine Learning fundamentals, Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, APIs, and model serving infrastructure.
3. Data Science Track

Interview Eligibility Alignment:
3rd-Year Students (Class of 2027/2028 depending on degree length): Evaluated for Summer Internship Interviews.
4th-Year Students (Class of 2026/2027): Evaluated for Winter Internship & Full-Time SDE Interviews.

Round 1 — Profile Screening: Application evaluation focusing on academic consistency, technical project portfolio, and profile completeness.

Round 2 — Proctored Coding Assessment: A 90-minute online technical assessment covering DSA, algorithmic logic, time complexity, and test case accuracy.

Round 3 — Case Study Code Submission: Shortlisted candidates build a system-level solution or tool to solve an e-commerce business problem.

Round 4 — National Grand Finale: The top 48 candidates (16 from each track) visit Flipkart HQ in Bangalore for a live team hackathon and executive presentation.

Interview & Hiring Shortlist: Candidates who clear Round 3 and Round 4 undergo technical and behavioral interviews for intern/full-time role conversions.
