Website Winfort

Winfort is hiring a Banking Data Analyst. Requires 3–6 years of experience, proficiency in Power BI dashboard development, advanced SQL querying, and end-to-end ETL data integration pipelines.

About the Company: Leading Financial Services Solutions Architect

This position is with a premium retail banking and financial services institution, represented by executive search firm Winfort. Operating at the center of modern banking operations, this financial organisation processes millions of secure transactions daily, manages extensive credit risk portfolios, and builds tech-driven consumer banking experiences.

The firm focuses heavily on engineering clean data architectures, deploying predictive risk models, and making data-backed decisions. By modernising their core business intelligence systems, they ensure clear regulatory compliance, protect user data, and give executives the clear data visibility needed to lead in a changing financial market.

About the Role: Banking Data Analyst (BI & ETL Integration)

Are you a data analyst who loves combining technical data building with clean visual design? Winfort is accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Data Analyst specialized in the Banking Domain. This role operates under a collaborative hybrid framework at the firm’s core operational hubs in India.

In this position, you will own the end-to-end data pipeline. This means you won’t just be building reports—you will be designing the automated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines that collect raw financial data, structuring that data with optimized SQL queries, and converting it into clear, secure, and interactive Power BI dashboards. Your analytical work will directly help risk officers, branch managers, and product owners track key metrics, evaluate loan distributions, and spot hidden operational trends.

Key Responsibilities & Banking Analytics Workflows

  • End-to-End ETL Automation: Design, monitor, and optimise automated ETL pipelines to extract unstructured banking information from core data systems and load it into clean staging warehouses.

  • Database Querying & Optimisation: Write and refine advanced SQL queries, views, and index parameters to search through transaction ledgers without slowing down production environments.

  • Banking Dashboard Engineering: Build and maintain interactive corporate dashboards using Power BI, utilising detailed DAX formulas and data modelling to track product performance and asset growth.

  • KPI Metric Alignment: Partner with banking division managers to identify core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as customer acquisition costs, loan default ratios, and liquidity changes.

  • Data Hygiene & Audit Readiness: Maintain absolute data accuracy across all analytical systems to meet strict financial regulatory standards and internal compliance checks.

  • Actionable Business Insight Delivery: Translate complex data trends and variance reports into plain-language summaries and practical recommendations for banking executives.

Candidate Prerequisites & Preferred Technical Stack

Successful candidates must balance clear financial domain knowledge with a strong background in big data integration and professional dashboard design.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in any field (Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or related quantitative streams preferred).

  • Professional Tenure: 3 to 6 years of experience working in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering within a commercial bank or financial services company.

Core Technical Stack Requirements:

  • Power BI Mastery: Deep experience building custom data models, writing complex DAX queries, and designing interactive layouts in Power BI.

  • Advanced SQL Capabilities: Strong skill writing complex relational queries, subqueries, and table joins to manage massive data tables.

  • ETL Architecture: Practical experience setting up data pipelines, processing unstructured data, and mapping source systems to target destinations using enterprise ETL tools.

  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with standard banking terms and processes, including credit management, customer lifecycle tracking, and risk reporting.

  • Professional Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to numeric detail, and clear communication skills to work well with cross-functional teams.
