The selected candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and data engineers to design and deliver scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Build Power BI Dashboards and Reports

The primary responsibility is to design and develop interactive dashboards and paginated reports using Power BI Desktop. These dashboards will be published to Power BI Service, enabling business users to monitor important KPIs and operational metrics.

Develop Efficient Data Models

Candidates will build semantic data models and create advanced DAX measures and calculated columns. The focus will be on improving report performance while maintaining accurate and reliable data insights.

Manage Data Transformations

You will use Power Query (M) to create transformations and reusable dataflows that support efficient and consistent data preparation across analytics projects.

Power BI Workspace Administration

The role also involves managing Power BI workspaces, datasets, data gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment pipelines. Proper administration ensures that the organisation maintains a scalable and governed analytics environment.

Implement Data Security and Governance

Maintaining strong security standards is an important part of this role. You will implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) while ensuring compliance with enterprise data governance policies.

Integrate with Microsoft Power Platform

You will connect analytics solutions with Power Automate and Power Apps to automate workflows, generate alerts, and support analytics-driven business applications.

Create Custom Power BI Visuals

When advanced reporting requirements arise, you may configure or develop custom Power BI visuals to enhance dashboard functionality and user experience.

SQL Data Analysis and Optimization

Strong SQL skills are essential for extracting, transforming, and optimizing data from different sources. You will also work with data engineering teams to support ETL pipelines and database performance tuning.

Collaborate with Stakeholders

You will conduct workshops and discussions with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and ensure analytics deliverables meet business objectives.

Monitor Performance and Provide Training

The role includes tracking report usage analytics, optimizing dashboard performance, documenting solutions, and providing training sessions and demos to help users adopt BI tools effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates applying for this role should meet the following requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

  • Advanced knowledge of DAX development and optimization

  • Experience with Power Query (M) and reusable dataflows

  • Integration experience with Power Automate

  • Experience working with Power Apps (Canvas or Model-driven apps)

  • Ability to develop or configure custom Power BI visuals

  • Strong SQL expertise (T-SQL / ANSI SQL) for data extraction and tuning

  • Knowledge of data modelling techniques such as star schema and snowflake schema

  • Understanding of semantic layer design and data governance

  • Familiarity with security frameworks, including RLS, OLS, workspace roles, and tenant policies
