Role Overview
ICON Strategic Solutions is recruiting a Senior Data Scientist for a fully Remote role in India.
In this position, you will leverage advanced statistical programming, machine learning, and data modeling to solve complex clinical development and operational challenges. You will work extensively with clinical datasets or enterprise Databricks platforms to extract actionable insights, build predictive models, optimize clinical trial workflows, and provide technical guidance across cross-functional research teams.
Key Responsibilities

Advanced Predictive Modeling: Design, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models and statistical frameworks to optimize clinical trial processes and operational delivery.

Clinical & Enterprise Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory analysis on complex, multi-source clinical or healthcare datasets to uncover patterns, anomalies, and operational insights.

Platform Utilization: Utilize Python, R, and Databricks to build scalable data science pipelines, automate statistical reporting, and maintain reproducible analytical workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global clinical leads, biostatisticians, and project managers to translate complex medical and operational questions into analytical frameworks.

Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert in data science best practices, process improvement, and operational excellence while mentoring junior team members.
Required Qualifications & Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.

Experience: Extensive proven track record in data science, statistical analysis, and end-to-end model development.

Core Skill Requirements:

Programming: Exceptional proficiency in Python (and/or R) for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning.

Domain / Platform Expertise: Direct experience working with Clinical Data Systems OR the Databricks platform.

Statistics & Mathematics: Deep background in statistical inference, mathematical modeling, and hypothesis testing.

Soft Skills: Outstanding problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, and verbal/written communication for presenting data insights to stakeholders.
