Role Overview

Crossing Infotech is seeking a Data Science Intern to join its remote analytics team. Designed specifically for freshers and early-career candidates, this role offers hands-on exposure to the foundational lifecycle of data science—ranging from raw data cleaning and statistical evaluation to building baseline machine learning models and documenting analytical insights.
You will work closely with guided workflows, building practical discipline in reproducible analysis, data validation, and technical report generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Preprocessing & Cleaning: Handle raw structured datasets by identifying missing values, removing anomalies, normalizing features, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Analyze datasets using Python statistical methods to uncover patterns, distributions, correlations, and key insights.
  • Baseline Model Building: Assist in training and testing basic machine learning algorithms (e.g., Regression, Classification) under guided project frameworks.
  • Model Evaluation & Testing: Support validation activities, evaluate performance metrics, and interpret modeling results.
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Design visual charts and summary reports to present analytical findings to project leads clearly.
  • Documentation & Reproducibility: Maintain structured documentation of data science assumptions, code logic, and project outcomes.

Candidate Profile & Eligibility

  • Target Audience: Freshers, entry-level candidates, or students pursuing/completing degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, IT, Economics, or quantitative fields.
  • Core Skills:
    • Fundamental grasp of Python programming and data handling concepts.
    • Basic understanding of descriptive/inferential statistics and probability.
    • Strong logical problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
    • Effective written communication and reporting discipline in a remote environment.
  • Preferred Skills (Bonus):
    • Exposure to libraries: pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, or scikit-learn.
    • Academic or personal project experience involving data analytics or predictive modeling.
    • Basic working knowledge of SQL or Advanced Excel.
