Role Overview

As a Data Analyst (L1) at EaseMyTrip, you will support business decision-making by analysing transactional, customer, and booking datasets. In this entry-to-junior role, you will work closely with product, growth marketing, and commercial operations teams to extract insights, track primary KPIs, build automated dashboards, and improve funnel performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Extraction & Querying: Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and join multi-table transactional data from large databases.
  • KPI Tracking & Dashboarding: Design and maintain automated BI dashboards (Power BI / Tableau) to track daily flight/hotel bookings, search conversion, revenue, and churn metrics.
  • Funnel Analysis: Analyze user search journeys and booking funnels to uncover conversion drop-offs, pricing sensitivity, and seasonal travel trends.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Support: Generate periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) performance reports for cross-functional leads and flag operational anomalies promptly.
  • Data Hygiene & Preprocessing: Perform data cleaning, validation, and anomaly checks using Excel or Python to ensure reporting accuracy.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a quantitative field.
  • Core Technical Skills:
    • SQL: Proficiency in writing queries, JOIN statements, aggregations, window functions, and handling structured database schema.
    • Excel: Strong expertise in Pivot Tables, Lookups (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), data formatting, and conditional formulas.
    • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience building interactive charts and reports in Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio.
    • Programming (Bonus): Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python (pandas, numpy) for automation and analytical scripting.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical orientation with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to translate raw numeric data into clear verbal or visual insights.
    • Fast adaptability in a dynamic, high-volume e-commerce/OTA environment.
