About the Role – Senior Business Analyst

Kanerika Inc is looking for a proactive and analytical Senior Business Analyst to help define functional requirements, support project planning, and contribute to strategic, data-driven decision-making.

In this role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and delivered successfully. The position also involves working with SQL, analytics dashboards, and business intelligence tools to support insights and reporting.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Business Analyst

1. Business & Functional Analysis

  • Gather and document requirements through stakeholder discussions, workshops, and research.

  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements.

2. Functional Documentation

  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.

3. SQL & Data Analysis

  • Use basic SQL queries to validate data, perform analysis, and generate insights for stakeholders.

4. Power BI Support

  • Assist in building or reviewing Power BI dashboards.

  • Validate data outputs and ensure accuracy in reporting.

5. Project Planning

  • Collaborate with project managers to:

    • Define project scope

    • Prioritize features

    • Track project milestones

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between business teams, technical teams, and QA to ensure clear communication.

7. Process Improvement

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-backed improvements.

8. Testing & UAT

  • Prepare test cases and assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Ensure deliverables align with business expectations.

Qualifications & Required Skills – Senior Business Analyst

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

  • MBA is preferred

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst

  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in:

    • Writing functional specifications and process flows

    • Basic SQL (queries, joins, filters)

    • Power BI for analytics and data storytelling

Tools & Platforms

  • Experience with:

    • JIRA

    • Confluence

    • MS Visio

    • Microsoft Excel

    • PowerPoint

Domain Knowledge

Experience in any of the following industries is preferred:

  • BFSI

  • Healthcare

  • Logistics

  • Retail

  • Manufacturing

Methodology

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments

Preferred Certifications

  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)

  • CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis)
