NISER Summer Internship Programme (NSIP) 2026: Master Scientific Research
The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, has officially announced the NSIP 2026. This 2-month intensive research internship (May 16 – July 15) is one of India’s most sought-after programs for students in Pure Sciences, Engineering, and Humanities.
Whether you want to dive into Machine Learning, Planetary Sciences, or Environmental Economics, NSIP provides a structured environment to work under the country’s top Principal Investigators (PIs).
Internship Snapshot

Duration: 16 May – 15 July 2026 (Fixed).

Stipend: ₹5,000 per month (For students without external funding).

Travel: To & fro Second Class Sleeper train fare reimbursement.

Accommodation: Provided in hostels at just ₹30/day (subject to availability).

Certificate: Official Project Completion Certificate issued by NISER.
Schools & Eligibility
You must be an Indian student currently enrolled in a UG or PG program. Key Schools include:

Computer Sciences: For students in CS/Computer Engineering (Focus on Algorithms & ML).

Physical Sciences: Materials Science, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering.

Humanities & Social Sciences: English, Economics, Psychology, and Sociology.

Earth & Planetary Sciences: Atmospheric Physics and Geochemistry.

Biological & Chemical Sciences: Biotech, Chemical Engineering, and Molecular Genetics.
Recommendation Letters (If Applicable)
Applicants may arrange for recommendation letters from two referees. These letters must be sent directly by email to the programme coordinator of the respective School before the application deadline.
Documents to Carry at the Time of Joining
- Original identity proof.
- Copy of application submission confirmation.
- Original academic documents for verification (if requested).
- Hostel fee and mess advance payment, if accommodation is availed.
Students are advised to keep both digital and printed copies of all submitted documents for reference during reporting and verification.
