Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Fraud Strategy Development: Own the end-to-end fraud loss management process across payment rails (Zelle, ACH, Wires, Real-Time Payments, and Bill Pay).

  • Data Mining & Trend Analysis: Analyze large, complex datasets to detect emerging digital fraud patterns, anomaly behaviors, and systemic vulnerabilities.

  • Rule Optimization & Automation: Build, test, and automate high-accuracy fraud detection rules and alerts to minimize false positives and control operational loss.

  • P&L & Financial Impact Modeling: Maintain a firm grasp on P&L drivers, evaluating the financial impact and ROI of proposed fraud prevention mechanisms.

  • Experimentation & A/B Testing: Design, run, and evaluate analytical experiments to measure strategy performance and impact on customer friction.

  • Cross-Functional & Agile Execution: Work within agile frameworks alongside product management, engineering, and digital threat teams to deploy new fraud detection capabilities.

  • Executive Communication: Translate complex machine learning outputs and risk analytics into actionable insights and concise presentations for senior leadership.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive professional experience in analytics, risk management, or data science.

  • Programming Skills: Hands-on proficiency in analytical languages such as Python, SQL, R, or SAS.

  • Data Visualization & Tools: Advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint for business decision-making and executive presentations.

  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated track record of processing massive data structures, executing experiment designs, and translating findings into strategic recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized domain experience in digital payments, retail banking fraud detection, or financial services risk.

  • Practical understanding of machine learning models and their deployment within fraud engines.

  • Knowledge of agile project management methodologies and P&L financial modeling.

  • Experience integrating vendor risk feeds and internal transactional data pipelines.
