Role Overview

StoneX Group is hiring an Apprentice – Data Engineer (serving as a Compliance Development Analyst) in Bengalurufor a full-time, 6-month apprenticeship starting in January 2027.
Positioned within the global Compliance and Financial Crime (Anti-Money Laundering / AML) unit, this role bridges data engineering, business intelligence, and process automation within a regulated financial framework. You will work on building Power BI dashboards, developing automated Power Platform workflows, executing SQL queries, and testing custom AI Copilot agents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Intelligence & Reporting: Design, deploy, and maintain Power BI dashboards using custom DAX measures and robust relational data models. Prepare recurring Management Information (MI) packs.
  • Data Engineering & Quality Assurance: Conduct data profiling, validation checks, and data reconciliation to maintain data integrity across regulatory reporting outputs.
  • Low-Code Automation: Develop and manage low-code workflows using Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint repositories to digitize approval processes and streamline manual reporting steps.
  • AI & Innovation Initiatives: Assist in rolling out, testing, and creating user guidelines for custom Microsoft Copilot agents and evaluating generative AI applications in financial compliance.
  • Operational & Technical Support: Author technical documentation, maintain procedural repositories, and perform ad-hoc SQL/Python data extractions for global regulatory queries.

Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Timeline: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline, graduating by July/August 2027.
  • Availability: Must be available for a full-time, 6-month internship in Bengaluru from January 20, 2027, to July 31, 2027.
  • Technical Competencies:
    • SQL & Data Querying: Ability to write clean SQL queries to join and extract data from enterprise databases.
    • Python: Basic proficiency using Python for data manipulation, cleaning, and routine automation scripts.
    • Power BI & Analytics: Experience creating visual reports, data modeling, and writing fundamental DAX expressions.
    • Power Platform: Familiarity or exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, or SharePoint workflow automation.
  • Regulatory Mindset: Basic interest or awareness of financial regulations, compliance, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) concepts (domain training provided on the job).
