Current production AI models are often brittle—they struggle with persistent context retention, are expensive to retrain, difficult to audit, and hard to align with human workflows. Daice Labs solves these challenges by combining frontier Large Language Models (LLMs) with neurosymbolic methods and bio-inspired system design. This architecture enables continuous adaptive learning, verifiable output tracking, and domain-specific context governance.

Role Overview

Daice Labs is seeking a research-oriented AI/ML Engineering Intern based remotely in India.
Working directly alongside senior engineers and MIT CSAIL-backed researchers, you will contribute to production ML systems, dataset management pipelines, and hybrid AI research workflows. You will design, train, and benchmark machine learning models while participating in core technical discussions and codebase optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development & Experimentation: Assist in designing, implementing, and benchmarking machine learning models under the mentorship of senior AI researchers.
  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain scalable data preprocessing workflows, feature extraction scripts, and dataset management pipelines.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct empirical ML experiments, evaluate performance metrics, and author technical findings for internal documentation.
  • Codebase Maintenance: Contribute modular, well-tested Python code, participate in GitHub code reviews, and optimize technical documentation.
  • Collaborative Research: Participate in architectural discussions surrounding neurosymbolic integration and long-term context retention engines.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Core Technical Competencies:
    • Programming: High proficiency in Python and fundamental data structures/algorithms.
    • ML Frameworks: Practical familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
    • Data Handling: Experience cleaning, structuring, and managing machine learning datasets.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Prior contributions to open-source AI/ML repositories or academic research papers.
    • Exposure to hybrid AI methodologies, neurosymbolic systems, generative models, or symbolic AI.
    • Strong proficiency with Git and collaborative remote development workflows.
