About the Role: Data Analyst (Technical Operations)

Epsilon is seeking a structured, detail-oriented Data Analyst to join its Automotive Technical Operations team in Bengaluru. This role serves as a crucial data-translation link, ensuring that backend engineering architectures align perfectly with real-world client operations, paid search, and social marketing executions.

As a Data Analyst, you will tackle client reporting, complex ad-hoc database extractions, and critical workflow automation initiatives. Moving beyond simple report generation, you will collaborate with cross-functional product teams to map business gaps, write user stories, establish technical acceptance criteria, and protect the end-to-end data integrity of Epsilon’s automotive software products. This position is built for analytical engineers who excel in fast-paced environments where scalability and data-driven decision-making are paramount.

Key Responsibilities & Data Operations Workflows

• Relational Database Querying & Optimisation: Write, refine, and optimise complex queries using Oracle SQL to pull high-volume datasets from relational enterprise architectures.

• Operational Automation & Modelling: Leverage Microsoft Excel, advanced lookup/statistical formulas, and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) macros to manipulate data matrices and automate repetitive manual reporting tasks.

• Product Backlog Collaboration: Work directly with Product Managers and technical squads to refine application features, draft clear user stories, and map out strict technical acceptance criteria for digital product enhancements.

• Telemetry & Reporting Delivery: Architect and update internal performance dashboards and external, client-facing reports focusing on user engagement, marketing lift, and operational performance.

• Cross-Functional Ad-Hoc Support: Act as the primary analytical contact for day-to-day operational data requests, resolving anomalies and troubleshooting platform-wide data sync issues.

• Data Governance & Flow Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, workflow schematics, and technical documentation defining the core business logic used throughout Epsilon’s analytics pipeline.

Candidate Prerequisites & Technical Skill Stack

Required Experience & Technical Base:

• The Database Engine: Strong, demonstrable experience writing structural queries with Oracle SQL (including deep knowledge of multi-table joins, subqueries, and analytical functions).

• Spreadsheet Engineering: Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, sophisticated nested logic formulas, data modelling, and hands-on experience building custom scripts via VBA.

• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to look at large, disparate datasets, isolate underlying behavioral patterns, catch structural inconsistencies, and formulate clear, quantitative takeaways.
