Commercial Analytics & BI Life Cycle Workflow

The BI Specialist at Lonza supports the Omni BI project, developing end-to-end data pipelines and visual reporting tools to guide commercial, sales, and marketing decision-making across global life sciences operations:

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End BI Product Delivery: Manage data lifecycle activities from raw source ingestion to user-facing dashboards for global sales, marketing, and commercial teams.

  • ETL Pipeline Development: Build, maintain, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using enterprise tools (SnapLogic, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).

  • User-Centric Reporting: Create interactive reporting tools and visual dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Qlik) aligned with strict usability and storytelling standards.

  • Commercial Insights Generation: Analyze commercial data streams to uncover performance trends, demand patterns, and market opportunities to support leadership decisions.

  • Data Governance & Platform Support: Ensure data quality, metadata standardization, access control enforcement, and day-to-day platform issue resolution.

Experience Level 0 to 4 years in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or commercial reporting roles.
ETL & Data Integration Practical experience with ETL frameworks like SnapLogic, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Visualization Stack Hands-on proficiency in Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, TIBCO Spotfire, or Looker.
Data Governance Practical understanding of data lineage, data quality auditing, metadata management, and security controls.
Bonus Technical Stack Exposure to React/Node.js, containerization with Docker, and modern CI/CD deployment flows.
