The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) offers the Digital India Internship Scheme to provide students with professional exposure to e-Governance and digital transformation. This is a prestigious opportunity to work on live government projects under the National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

🎯 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the 2026 cycle, you must meet the following:

Nationality: Must be an Indian student.

Institution: Must be studying at a recognized university in India.

Academic Record: Minimum 60% marks in the last held degree/certificate exam.

Year of Study: Must have at least one year of study remaining.

Note: Students in their final semester or passing out in Summer 2025 are not eligible.

Educational Background by Area:
-
Tech Areas (Sl. 1-21): B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc (CS, IT, Electronics, Electrical) or MCA.

Legal Area (Sl. 22): L.L.B.
-
Economic Area (Sl. 23): Bachelor’s in Economics and Statistics.
📝 Application Process
The application is entirely online through the Digital India Internship Portal.

Registration: Register as a ‘New User’ with your mobile and email. Verify via OTP.

Form Filling: Complete three sections: Personal Details, Academic Details, and Two References.

Document Upload: (See list below).

Submission: Submit the form and save the unique Acknowledgment Number.

Acceptance: If shortlisted, you will receive an Offer Letter via email. You must submit your Confirmation Letterand bank details within 3 days.

✅ 10th (Matriculation) & 12th (Higher Secondary) Certificates.

✅ Relevant Mark Sheets of the qualifying degree.

✅ Recommendation Letter from your Sponsoring Institute (HOD/Principal).
⚠️ Important Guidelines

No TA/DA: The ministry will not pay for travel or stay for the interview or the internship.

Confidentiality: Interns must maintain strict confidentiality and cannot claim Intellectual Property Rights for work done during the stint.

Media Policy: Interns are prohibited from interacting with the media regarding their work at MeitY.

Completion: To receive the certificate and stipend, you must submit a project report and a “No-Demand Certificate” at the end of the term.
