Job Overview

AlphaSense is hiring a Business Analyst II to join its Content Strategy, Planning & Analysis team in Pune. The role involves analyzing content performance, conducting due diligence on content sources, developing business cases, and supporting strategic decisions across the company’s content organization.

The selected candidate will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, Revenue, and Business Intelligence teams to improve content strategy, evaluate partnerships, track usage trends, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Analysis and Due Diligence

• Conduct due diligence and comparative analysis of existing and prospective content sources and partnerships.
• Support the development of business cases, proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Analyze content usage, readership, coverage, and performance across platform offerings.
• Provide actionable insights to support product and content strategy decisions.

2. Data Analysis and Reporting

• Respond to ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
• Build dashboards and reports in collaboration with Content and Business Intelligence teams.
• Present findings and recommendations to content leaders and other stakeholders.
• Track content requests and generate reports, dashboards, and presentations using ProductBoard and other relevant tools.

3. Content Strategy and Competitive Intelligence

• Monitor industry trends and identify potential new content sources.
• Compile competitive intelligence to support content and product strategy.
• Evaluate content coverage, metadata, content feeds, and different document and data delivery formats.
• Help assess opportunities to expand and improve the platform’s content offerings.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, Revenue, and BI teams.
• Investigate and address inquiries from internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues across global locations.
• Communicate findings clearly through presentations, reports, and discussions.

5. Process Improvement

• Identify gaps in existing processes and workflows.
• Conduct current-state and future-state gap analyses.
• Recommend and implement improvements to operational processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Content organization.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have:

• At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, and due diligence.
• Relevant experience in consulting, financial services, or corporate services.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Experience analyzing complex data and presenting actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides.
• The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Technical Skills

Experience with the following tools and technologies is beneficial:

• SQL, Python, or R: Data manipulation and analysis.
• Tableau, Power BI, or Looker: Data visualization and reporting.
• ProductBoard: Tracking and managing content requests.
• Excel and Google Sheets: Data analysis, organization, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications can strengthen an application:

• Familiarity with buy-side and sell-side workflows, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate functions, or consulting.
• Knowledge of content feeds, metadata, document formats, and data delivery methods.
• Experience with product development frameworks such as Agile and Kanban.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as SAFe or Six Sigma.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
