Role Overview

Zenithbyte is hiring a Data Science Intern for a 3-month remote internship. In this role, you will analyze real-world datasets, perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), engineer features, and build predictive machine learning models to extract actionable business insights.
This position provides practical exposure to industry workflows, data wrangling pipelines, machine learning evaluation, and collaborative remote work environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Clean, inspect, and summarize structured datasets to identify underlying distributions, trends, correlations, and anomalies.
  • Predictive Modeling: Train, evaluate, and fine-tune baseline machine learning models (e.g., Regression, Classification, Clustering) using Python/R.
  • Data Visualization: Design clear charts and visual summaries to translate complex model outputs into understandable business insights.
  • Feature Engineering & Preprocessing: Preprocess raw data—handling missing values, encoding categorical variables, scaling features, and managing outliers.
  • Documentation & Code Quality: Maintain clean, documented codebases, Jupyter notebooks, and technical project reports.

Eligibility & Skill Requirements

  • Target Audience: Enrolled college students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative fields.
  • Core Languages: Knowledge of Python or R.
  • Machine Learning & Data Tools: Familiarity with standard data science packages:
    • Data Wrangling: pandas, numpy
    • Machine Learning: scikit-learn
    • Visualization: matplotlib, seaborn
  • Development Tools: Basic hands-on experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Google Colab, and Git/GitHub.
