About the Company: IBM

IBM (International Business Machines) is a preeminent global technology leader, advanced cloud provider, and premium business transformation consultant operating in more than 175 countries. As a historic engine of computing architecture, IBM shapes the global digital infrastructure, providing enterprise-grade hybrid cloud ecosystems, secure virtualisation layers, quantum computing systems, and ethical AI applications to Fortune 500 enterprises, government agencies, and critical financial markets.

The IBM Global Sales (Global Markets) organisation serves as the company’s client-facing commercial powerhouse. This strategic business unit is responsible for managing IBM’s global revenue footprint, aligning local country teams with multi-disciplinary delivery units to design tailored solutions for local clients. Embodying a performance culture anchored in continuous upskilling, personal responsibility, and client commitment, IBM fosters a collaborative community where early-professional “IBMers” use technical knowledge to drive digital modernisation and produce long-term business value.

About the Role: Master@IBM Cloud Technical Sales Specialist

IBM Germany is officially opening applications for its premier Master@IBM Work & Study program within the IBM Cloud Technical Sales Specialist track. Based at the corporate branch in Cologne (Köln), North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, this dual-track professional program is engineered for ambitious Bachelor’s graduates looking to complete a part-time Master’s degree over a 2- to 3-year timeline while simultaneously leading technical client-facing sales accounts.

As an IBM Cloud Technical Sales Specialist, you will operate at the intersection of systems engineering, consultative sales, and technical advisory. Rather than sitting on the operational sidelines, you will work within a specialised technical sales organisation supporting corporate German accounts. Step by step, you will master enterprise cloud mechanics—learning how complex infrastructures are built, secured, monitored, and optimised for cost. You will translate abstract cloud capabilities into business value propositions, guiding major enterprise clients through workshops, live architectural demos, and technical conferences.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Workflows

  • Enterprise Cloud Architecture Mapping: Learn to evaluate client infrastructure frameworks and design tailored hybrid cloud solutions using Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, bare-metal servers, and Power Virtual Servers.

  • Technical Consulting & Advising: Represent IBM as a trusted technical advisor during customer meetings, technical conferences, and strategic marketing workshops.

  • Live Software Demonstrations: Build, configure, and deliver technical live software demos and proofs-of-concept (PoCs) illustrating IBM Cloud value metrics.

  • Cost & Security Optimisation: Partner with senior technical sellers to analyse enterprise cloud workloads, ensure cost optimisation, and verify system security compliance.

  • Value Proposition Engineering: Translate highly abstract, complex technology stacks into clean, data-backed value propositions to support customer investment decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Partner with integrated account teams of client managers, data scientists, and solution specialists to accelerate cloud modernisation sales cycles.
