About the Role: Data Scientist – Artificial Intelligence (Internship)

IBM Consulting is seeking a logically driven, technically curious Data Scientist Intern specialising in Artificial Intelligence to join its world-class Data & AI practice in Abu Dhabi. This position is crafted for ambitious individuals who want to build a compelling technology portfolio and gain professional consulting exposure by embedding directly into live corporate client AI engagements.

At IBM, interns do not operate on the sidelines. You will step directly into an active project ecosystem, supporting technical squads through the ideation, evaluation, and documentation of modern AI systems. Under the direct mentorship of senior data scientists, your day-to-day work will bridge the gap between abstract algorithmic concepts and actual business value—focusing heavily on high-impact use-case assessments, agentic AI research, and the synthesis of technical client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities & AI Consulting Workflows

  • Use-Case Evaluation & Analysis: Review, unpack, and analyse client business processes to identify and map high-value opportunities for Artificial Intelligence and automation frameworks.

  • Agentic AI & LLM Research: Assist senior data scientists in investigating cutting-edge AI concepts, focusing on agentic AI workflows, autonomous systems, and modern prompt engineering strategies.

  • Client Deliverable Synthesis: Author, compile, and refine technical solution blueprints, data architectures, and user documentation to clearly communicate project outcomes to stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner actively across internal product pods and client teams during workshops, discovery meetings, and design sprints to map data requirements.

  • Technical Proofing support: Assist the technical team with setting up baseline models, checking code repositories, and handling ad-hoc query scripts as required.
