Are you an Android developer who loves writing clean Kotlin code and is passionate about fitness, health, and wearable tech? TalentXM is building an elite Android Talent Pool to spearhead upcoming, next-generation mobile initiatives for leading global brands in the fitness, wellness, and sports technology sectors.

This is a 100% remote, home-office-based role open to engineers across Latin America, with core working hours aligned to US Eastern Time (EST). In this role, you won’t just build standard interfaces; you will leverage modern Android architecture, Jetpack components, and AI-driven efficiency tools to create high-performance applications that positively impact people’s lifestyles and health journeys worldwide.

The Role: Android Mobile Engineer

As a member of our proactive Android Talent Pool, you will be slated for upcoming product launches and feature expansions within the fitness and wellness domain, collaborating daily with US-based stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End App Engineering: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance, native Android applications across diverse client projects.

  • Architecture & Clean Code: Write modular, efficient, and highly maintainable codebase structures in Kotlin, strictly following industry best practices and coding standards.

  • Performance Optimization: Ensure the absolute quality, responsiveness, and fluid rendering of applications, proactively identifying and resolving complex bugs or execution bottlenecks.

  • Agile Collaboration: Participate daily in Scrum ceremonies, peer code reviews, and cross-functional syncing with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineering teams.

  • Release & Lifecycle Management: Partner closely with QA and DevOps teams to streamline app deployment, automate testing workflows, and manage production releases.

  • AI-Enhanced Workflows: Intentionally use Generative AI tools to optimise development workflows, accelerate code generation, and improve engineering efficiency.


Technical Requirements & Skills

We are seeking self-driven software engineers who communicate with structure and structure their code with architectural intent.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical mobile engineering experience.

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional mobile development experience, with a heavy focus on native Android systems.

  • Core Language: Strong, hands-on production experience in native Kotlin development.

  • Architectural Mastery: Solid understanding of modern Android architecture patterns, specifically MVVM and Clean Architecture.

  • Jetpack Ecosystem: Comprehensive experience utilising Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Navigation, WorkManager, etc.).

  • Networking: Experience consuming RESTful APIs and seamlessly integrating third-party software development kits (SDKs).

  • DevOps Foundations: Strong proficiency with Git version control and collaborative branching workflows (Gitflow).

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent spoken and written English for seamless daily integration with US-based teams.

Preferred Skills (Bonus Points):

  • Hands-on production experience with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI construction.

  • Familiarity with hardware integrations, specifically Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or wearable device syncing (smartwatches, heart rate monitors).

  • Experience with media streaming architectures (audio/video rendering) or subscription payment models (in-app purchases).

  • Familiarity with mobile CI/CD automation pipelines and cloud deployment tools.

  • Cross-platform exposure (React Native or iOS/Swift basics).

  • Prior experience building health, mental wellness, or sports applications.
