Global IT Software Engineer Manager | Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is looking for a Global IT Software Engineer Manager to lead the technical lifecycle of the firm’s Career Development application. This is a “Player-Coach” role, requiring high-level architectural oversight alongside hands-on full-stack development.

You will manage a mix of internal and external developers while collaborating with Product Owners and Business Analysts to build scalable, high-performance tools that support BCG’s global workforce.

As a manager in the Global IT organization, you are responsible for the digital backbone of how BCG professionals grow.

  • Modern Frontend Leadership: Architecting user interfaces using React 18+, TypeScript, and Micro-Frontendpatterns (Module Federation/Single-SPA).

  • Scalable Backend Design: Developing services with Node.js (NestJS/Express) and GraphQL, moving toward Event-Driven Architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • AI-Driven Innovation: Integrating OpenAI APIs and Vector Databases to build intelligent search and automated workflows for career tracking.

  • Cloud & DevOps Ownership: Managing global deployments on AWS/Azure using Kubernetes (K8s) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

  • Security-First Engineering: Implementing DevSecOps and ensuring all code meets OWASP standards and WCAG accessibility compliance.
