Eligibility & Selection Criteria

The MEA follows a strict “Quota cum Weightage” system to ensure pan-India representation.

  • Educational Status: Final-year Undergraduates, Postgraduates, or Research Scholars.

  • Academic Excellence: Minimum 60% marks in and Graduation.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 25 years as of the application deadline.

  • State Quota (Term I): This cycle is open to candidates from 14 States (including Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, etc.) and 4 UTs (Delhi, Chandigarh, etc.).

  • Gender Diversity: At least 30% of seats are reserved for women candidates.

 The Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Screening: A merit list is prepared based on academic performance ( and Graduation marks). Priority is given to applicants from TADP (Aspirational) districts.

  2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates (3x the number of seats) are invited for a Video Conference interview.

  3. Final List: 30 candidates are selected based on interview performance and category-based weightage (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).
