📌 About the Role – Business Analyst

This role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements related to smart metering systems into functional specifications. You will work on technologies such as AMI, MDM, HES, prepaid billing, WFM, and SLA applications.

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a bridge between DISCOM stakeholders, AMISP vendors, technical teams, and operations to ensure smooth system implementation and performance.

🔧 Key Responsibilities – Business Analyst

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Collaborate with DISCOMs, AMISP vendors, and internal teams to capture requirements.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and process flows.
  • Identify gaps in AMI workflows, from installation to billing cycles.

2. Integration & Data Flow Understanding

  • Understand integrations across HES, MDM, Billing, WFM, and SLA systems.
  • Review APIs, payload structures (JSON/XML), and validation rules.
  • Coordinate with integration teams for API development and enhancements.

3. Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Prepare UAT scenarios, acceptance criteria, and validation checklists.
  • Conduct functional testing for modules, dashboards, and mobile applications.
  • Validate data synchronization, meter onboarding, and SLA calculations.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project progress, requirement updates, and system performance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of AMI modules.
  • Support MIS reporting, KPI tracking, and analytical dashboards.

🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications – Business Analyst

💻 Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of AMI, Smart Metering, MDM, HES, and billing systems.
  • Experience with APIs, JSON/XML, SQL basics, and data validation.
  • Familiarity with WFM mobile apps and SLA systems.

📊 Business & Analytical Skills

  • Expertise in documentation (BRD/FSD) and process mapping.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical tools.

🤝 Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments.

✅ Specific Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Acceptance Testing
  • Minimum 2+ years in Meter Data Management (MDM)
  • Minimum 2+ years in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
